In 2015, Lety started The Event with a simple baby shower sweet table set up in her dining room. It's grown a lot since then. With over 100 parties and weddings under her team's belt, The Event is a team of dedicated women whose individual strengths make one incredible team. 5 years later, we continue to grow and curate innovated design concepts to elevate our customer experience. We no longer work from our dining room. We are proud to serve all over Chicago and the surrounding areas; including Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
The Event's mission is simple: to empower and uplift our clients by turning their vision into a reality; bringing happiness and joy one party at a time. We take a hands-on, stress-free, and service-centric approach in the what we do. We know that when it comes to planning a major milestone celebration, you have many options. Above all, we value your trust in choosing us.
In light of developments with COVID-19 , and the uncertainty surrounding it, we wanted to inform you of updates related to our operations.
We will be rescheduling all consultations along with planning and design meetings until at least April 1st. Due to rescheduling of events, we will be prioritizing emails and calls with current upcoming events to latest. We are in constant contact with our vendor partners to ensure up-to-date information. To our current clients who are having to postpone their events, we want to reassure you that we will work with you every step of the way as you transition to a new date.

How to get started
All first-time consultations are complimentary. Schedule one today and learn about our planning and design process. All consults are scheduled during the week as weekends tend to be our busier days.
How far in advance should you book The Event
For smaller size set ups, we recommend about 2-3 months prior to the event date to book. For weddings, we recommend booking 9-12 months in advance. We generally do not double book, as we want to be completely hands-on and give our best to our clients. Currently we have very limited availability during the summer season, and are booking for Winter 2020 and for 2021. It is never to early to book and secure your event date. Most of our deposits are $100.
We carry a large inventory of party supplies and rentals, including table linens, chair covers, donut walls, and everyone's favorite; the prosecco wall. Visit our rentals page to view our complete list.
Custom Sweets, Pastries, and Cakes
We proudly serve Sweet Impressions sweets and cake to compliment our sweet table design. All sweets are custom made to match the theme and color pallet of the sweet table. Clients are not required to order their sweets through us exclusively. We work with you and your budget. If you have a different pastry chef in mind, we are happy to collaborate with them in the design and planning phase to bring your vision to life.
Full Wedding Planning Service
Our full wedding planning services gives you a head start on the planning game. We start from the very beginning giving you unlimited vendor options and contacting them for quotes and appointments. We schedule all wedding related activities and coordinate all day-of logistics. In addition, we sort, mail, and handle RSVPs providing you a daily updated guest list.
